Responsibilities
• Examining, interviewing, measuring, scanning, and casting patients• Fitting, testing, and evaluating devices on patients• Instructing patients in proper use and care of devices• Designing orthotic and prosthetic solutions• Maintaining accurate patient records• Selecting appropriate materials and components• Collaborating with physicians• Performing repairs, modifications, and rebuilding• Overseeing device construction and fabrication• Cultivating strong relationships with referral sources• Identifying opportunities for in-services to promote product line
Requirements
• American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) or Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) Certification• Equivalent combination of education and experience
