Your duties at a glance As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program , you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families. Your dedication will help us achieve the Child Welfare Vision for Transformation that will support children and young adults to be safer, healthier, experience less trauma and achieve a greater well-being. As a Certification Technician, you will: Provide administrative support to Certifiers, Resource Parent Training Team and branch staff managers. Work alongside other certification technicians and have some contact with clients who are working towards or interested in being certified. Complete data entry making sure that all required information is entered for each case. Complete administrative tasks such as updating materials for certification manuals and packets, data entry, conducting file management, attending meetings, completing registration for training session, and applying customer service skills when needed. What you need to qualify Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An associate degree in any field; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential attributes We are looking for candidates with: Demonstrated ability providing customer service skills that include demonstrated experience consistently going beyond meeting the customer's basic needs. Experience providing customer service, including through the use of a multi-line phone. Experience explaining rules, regulations, and procedures in a clear and understandable way. Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and showcase intercultural competency. Demonstrated ability using a trauma-informed lens to professionally resolve conflicts with a wide variety of people. Working conditions Your work will be conducted in the office for the first 6 months as part of your training requirements. There will be potential for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months. Your work schedule will be a standard work week: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm You will have required travel for day-to-day work in the community. You may also have required travel for the purpose of attending trainings. Your work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 and hours may fluctuate based on service needs. Occasional compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work. You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions. You may walk into stressful situations that require quick decision-making skills to ensure safety of those being serviced and your own physical safety. This may also be trauma inducing.
