**Description** **Purpose** Assist in performing and tracking daily inspection of construction work on a variety of roadway projects. **Key Responsibilities** **Leadership and Direction** + Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. Receive direction on all aspects of assignments, specific tasks and how to execute. Work is thoroughly reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. **At the Operational and Company Level** + Assist in the maintenance of existing client relationships. **Do the Work** + Observe and inspect construction work and prepare daily inspection reports and constructability reviews. + Oversee daily construction work including work zone traffic control, earthwork, erosion control, asphalt paving, concrete paving, drainage structure installation, reinforced concrete, and equipment installation. + Observe construction work in progress to ensure performance with specifications and contract documents. Review coordinated sets of working drawings. + Complete daily calculating, reporting, documenting, and communicating verbally and in writing. + Compute quantities for items such as concrete, asphalt, steel, earthwork, drainage structures, and traffic control devices. + Operate company vehicle, computer, and testing equipment. + Analyze shop drawings of moderate complexity. + Maintain daily job log. + Refer and report problems and deviations from plans and specifications to management. Engineering program completion preferred, commensurate experience considered. + Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any construction/inspection experience on roadway projects preferred. + Experience on DOT or municipal roadway projects including daily records and reports on asphalt paving, concrete work, grading, structural work, and erosions control preferred. + DOT CEI Certifications are a plus.
