Job Title: CDL Driver Position Overview: Our client, a leading hazardous waste management company, is seeking a highly qualified CDL Driver to join their dedicated team. The CDL Driver will be responsible for the safe and compliant transportation of hazardous materials, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations. This position requires diligence, attention to safety, and a commitment to environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities: • Safely operate vehicles for the transportation of hazardous waste, fulfilling the core duties of the CDL Driver role.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards, a critical task for the CDL Driver.
• Ensure the proper loading and unloading of hazardous waste materials, adhering to all safety protocols expected of a CDL Driver.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of all driving and delivery activities, showcasing the organizational skills required of a CDL Driver.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customer service teams to report any issues or delays, exemplifying the communication skills necessary for a CDL Driver.
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay current with the latest industry standards, an essential practice for every CDL Driver.
• Respond to emergency situations or spills according to company and regulatory guidelines, demonstrating the CDL Driver's preparedness and responsibility.
Qualifications: • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement.
• Proven experience as a CDL Driver in the hazardous waste industry preferred.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations, with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, and pulling required for loading and unloading materials.
• Excellent communication and time management skills, crucial for the success of a CDL Driver.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hazardous materials transport is a plus.
