Responsibilities
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies• Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and patient care• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers• Document delivery of health care and nursing processes• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills• Support physicians as needed• Refer patients to other healthcare providers or community resources• Deliver care according to specific specialty area standards
Requirements
• BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association• Certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner from the Alabama Board of Nursing• Master's degree of Nursing
Key Skills Needed
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills• Excellent communication and counseling skills• Knowledge of specific specialty area standards
