*Perform procedures with completed and documented competency, within scope of certification and PHS (Presbyterian Healthcare Services) policy and under the direct supervision of the provider. These procedures include performing treadmill exercise tolerance tests, stress echocardiograms, and 6-minute walk tests. Ensures patient safety through procedure protocols and policies. Start to cross train in nuclear medicine stress testing and learn to hone their skills and techniques to identify abnormalities in ECG tracings.
Other information:
*High school diploma or GED required.
*2 years of cardiology experience in an outpatient clinic
* Must pass CCT within 1 year of hire date
*Current BLS certification (must be obtained in 90 days if not current)
*Must have Completed Basic Arrhythmia course
*Requires detailed knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, and principles of Cardiac stress testing.
*Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within 3 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
*Medical Assistant diploma plus 2-years cardiology experience in an outpatient clinic
*Previous MA (medical assistants) (advance) experience
