-Carbon Composites Development Engineer

Location:  Winston-Salem, NC but 33% travel to Gardena, CA in the first year as the new facility is being built in Winston-Salem, NC 
Reports to : VP of Research and Development
Position Summary: The Development Engineer will lead product and process development projects for high temperature materials, C/Phenolic, C/C, and C/SiC composites. Detailed project management of development opportunities and technical oversight of company product lines. Drive the costing of new products, perform trials, and report results to internal and external stakeholders. Serve as the customer-facing technical expert for company manufacturing processes, which includes silica leaching, carbonization, and CVI treatments.  Identify new business opportunities and participate in the vetting of development projects to determine feasibility and prioritization. Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to facilitate the development of new products in a rapidly changing environment. Conform to the company's APQP process for developing new products and converting new products to production.  Requirements Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in technical field or higher, or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience in the development of high temperatures composite materials; knowledge of C/Phenolic tape wrapping and CVI processing is preferred. Ability to clearly communicate product requirements and compose technical reports to share data and findings to stakeholders. Benefits To be discussed during the interview process
