Knox College invites applications for the part-time, 12-month position of Campus Safety Officer. This Campus Safety Officer will work on an as-needed basis up to 24 hours per week, which may include any shift, including nights, weekends and/or holidays. This position reports to the Director of Campus Safety.
Essential Duties:
Patrol campus in a vehicle and on foot for the protection of students, employees, visitors and their propertyRespond to emergency situations and routine requests for serviceWrite incident reportsEnforce Knox College rules and regulationsSecure and provide authorized access to campus buildingsCoordinate with emergency services when requiredReport any safety/security situations
Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree (Criminal Justice preferred) or two or more years of full-time security, law enforcement or related experienceValid driver's licenseAbility to patrol on foot in all types of weatherStrong, professional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to make sound decisions, sometimes with limited information, in fluid situations
