Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for an experienced CAD technician. This position has potential growth opportunities including leading design tasks on airfield projects and potential supervisory/management responsibilities for design projects. This position is an in-office position with potential for two days per week remote work, after the first 6 months. A valid driver's license and some, mostly local, travel will be required.
Responsibilities include:
assisting engineers by providing and verifying accuracy of technical CAD work developing engineering designs and plans including geometric layout, grading, drainage, profiles, cross sections, pavement markings, and details Applying engineering theory and/or performs necessary mathematical calculations to achieve the completed design reviewing and analyzing topographic survey and digital terrain model (DTM) surfaces calculating construction quantities using CAD software attending project start up meetings for project requirements and scheduling coordinating with other disciplines Successful candidates must have an associate degree (or higher) in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution plus at least (four or six) years of relevant experience, OR, if no degree, must have at least (six or eight) years of relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
AutoCAD Civil 3D Creating surfaces, alignments, profiles, cross sections, corridors, pipe networks, and grading developing project plans for civil site, and/or airport design projects implementing corporate CAD standards reviewing and analyzing topographic survey and digital terrain model (DTM) surfaces If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are someone who takes initiative, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at /careers.
