Full job description Description: This person will be working under the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to support the manufacturing of custom doors for consumer and commercial customers. Once the bids have been placed to win the work of designing the doors, they will then take the blueprints of the building and use those measurements to customize a mechanical design of the door in AutoCAD 2D for the fabrication ship to manufacture. They will also be designing the door in 3D to be able to show the customer the overall design prior to manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications: The company is moving to Inventor software as they will now be offering a simulated 3D design of the door to be able to show the look of the door to the customer once they have begun the design process. Someone that has a background in AutoCAD 2D design in a product manufacturing setting is ideal. They will also need to be able to read 2D blueprints, but the customer can train as long as they have a background in 3D design in Inventor or Solidworks.
