Specialized Recruiting Group is collaborating with a reputable manufacturing company to recruit a full-time CAD Technician who brings at least three years of experience in Mechanical Drafting/Design or holds a two-year associate degree in drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Technical Writing. The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in Solidworks 3D modeling.
Role Responsibilities Organized into Key Areas: Design and Development: 3D Modeling: Create and optimize 3D models for mechanical device components, focusing on designs that facilitate manufacturing efficiency. Schematic Production: Generate precise assembly and component schematics from 3D models, incorporating detailed instructions to guide production. Project Analysis and Support: Project Evaluation: Analyze project directives to understand client specifications and identify potential technical challenges. Design Optimization: Suggest proactive design alterations or material substitutions to overcome identified challenges and enhance product functionality. Documentation and Process Management: Fabrication Drawings: Prepare exact fabrication drawings to aid the production process, accommodating both in-house machine shops and external vendors. Assembly Support: Ensure that 3D assembly layouts and technical drawings promote an efficient and error-free construction process. Documentation Oversight: Manage the creation and maintenance of critical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), dimensional blueprints, and exploded view illustrations to ensure streamlined project execution. Candidate Requirements and Desired Skills: Essential Qualifications: Solidworks 3D Modeling: Proficient to expert level skills required. Experience and Education: Minimum of three years in mechanical drafting/design or a two-year Associate's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Technical Writing. Highly Desirable Skills: Solidworks Proficiency: Advanced training and certifications in Solidworks. Software Management: Experience as a Solidworks PDM (Product Data Management) Administrator. Technical Documentation: Proficiency with Solidworks Composer. Industry Experience: Background in the manufacturing sector. Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical component design, especially in applications like fluid dynamics (specific knowledge of centrifugal mechanisms is a plus).
