Summary
FIRST RF is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Buyer/Planner with outstanding communication and organizational skills to join our team. As an important member of your Project team(s), you will represent the interests of FIRST RF and the customer, and work on a variety of R&D and Production contracts. Production ranges in size from quick-response projects to large production orders with thousands of units. This role stands at the intersection of FIRST RF engineering, leadership, and the supply base. The role brings many skills to bear to ensure technical excellence, financial responsibility, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Prepares, issues and controls purchase requisitions and orders and coordinates with other Planners and Budget Holders to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet Production or R & D requirements
Facilitates communication among planning, program management, production, engineering, quality, management and the supply chain
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential supply chain problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
Confirms material supply and demands, prepares purchase requests and orders for purchasing of components or parts based on a production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with product assurance, manufacturing, engineering, and inventory control, and schedules and expedites the movement of parts
Coordinate with Planners, Accounts Payable and the Suppliers to process purchase orders for non-conforming material being returned for credit or replacement.
Collaborate with all teams to ensure that project goals and deliverables meet FIRST RF quality standards
Identify, track, manage and resolve project issues
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the projects and related contractual, technical, and quality documentation
Support proposal and pricing efforts
Manage material logistics and supplier relations
Support purchasing lifecycle through coordination with Accounting, Receiving and Program Management where needed
Support process improvement
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and photocopiers.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Typical office hours include Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, however these hours will vary based on workload and the manager's discretion. This job may require more than 40 hours of work per week as the need arises.

No travel is expected for this position.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
Experience; preferably working for, and in support of high-tech department of defense manufacturing programs or equivalent
Proficient user in MS Office suite; specifically, Excel.
Ability to prepare reports, worksheets, charts, schedules, and other data as necessary. ERP/MRP system experience helpful.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize work effectively
Strong ability to work well within a team environment and a willingness to learn from others
Ability to identify technical, cost, and schedule risks/opportunities and to engage team members appropriately
A capacity to thrive in a self-motivated environment that has few boundaries and at-times conflicting priorities
Excellent organizational skills and a detail-oriented problem-solving approach
A desire to find, explore, and solve new and challenging problems
