Vertiv is hiring a Buyer in Anderson, SC who will be responsible for planning and procuring material to meet customer requirements at an optimal cost. The Buyer is responsible for maintaining inventory levels, address shortages and support product evolution daily. The Buyer is responsible for securing the necessary materials to meet the needs of customers and the business. The Buyer works with more complex suppliers and supply chains in order to develop a foundation of basic practices and procedures. The Buyer develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive and may recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing. The Buyer interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES Research and update the company ERP system with current component part information. Issue PO's to suppliers determined by supervisor. Issue and manage Inter-Company PO's. Review the open orders report and follow-up with the supplier if any changes need to be made (Push-out / Pull-In). Maintain accurate PO information in the ERP system (Order confirmations, required dates, and promise delivery dates) Work closely with stores to coordinate the stock reservation and stock allocation on the ERP system in order to fulfill the material demand. Meet with local suppliers to meet the supply needs of the business. Utilize company sales/Purchase history to forecast part needs and monitor inventory levels. Updates information in the company ERP system. Works with the production team or company scheduler to coordinate materials to meet the scheduled timelines. Coordinates information between production, Store, purchasing and shipping daily; provide availability, pricing, and shipping information; generate daily, weekly, monthly metric reports. Assists the management team in providing pricing updates. Provide availability, pricing, and shipping information. Generate metric reports as needed.
