We believe in blurring the line between science and technology, using one to improve the other in a holistic approach.  Araceli currently has an opening for a talented and experienced Buyer/Planner. This position works cross functionally to identify, develop, and source materials and/or services in support of our business needs. Provides effective support for our Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure reliable and timely supply of needed materials and services. The role is expected to proactively own all aspects of sourcing, procurement, scheduling, planning, receiving, and handling of the critical components and materials that go into Araceli Products.
Responsibilities:
• Own and drive the SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) process at Araceli.
• Complete inventory and non-inventory purchases for the entire organization. 
• Assure that material, supplies, and services are available as required and meet established goals. 
• Setup and manage a MRP system within NetSuite.
• Initiates inventory and total cost projects which result in price reductions, value and productivity improvements, cost avoidances and cost performance trade-offs. 
• Provides regular inventory review, and cost reporting analysis, as needed.
• Create and maintain requisitions, purchase orders, acknowledgements and resolve invoice discrepancies. Identify changes in customer demand and adjust accordingly.
• Foster positive relationships with internal and external suppliers. Ensure supplier performance meets quality and continuity of supply inventory, delivery times.
• Research potential new vendors, establish contacts to develop additional sources for materials.
• Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company.
• Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
• Authorizing payments and maintain receipts, records and inventories.
• Contribute to Araceli's knowledge of new techniques and technologies by researching and communicating information on new materials, products, or processes of manufacturing.
• Perform supplier qualifications and audits as needed or assigned.
• Support material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred. 
• Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position. 
• Proficiency in CRM and inventory management software programs. 
• Experience in supplier and contract negotiation is required.
• Must possess sound knowledge and applications skills of the value chain process.
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret cost drivers when developing cost savings strategies.
• Solid understanding of materials operation, materials planning, and inventory control in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong business partnerships; ability to convey complex issues in simple terms to all levels of the organization.
• Self-starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve challenging objectives with limited supervision in a "team first" environment.
• Results oriented professional, able to solve problems and implement change.
• Experienced user of MS office.
• Strong analytical, time management, math and writing skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. and perform manual shipping and receiving tasks.
• Receiving and packing products to stock shelves, ensuring that part numbers are marked on each item.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite 
• Experience with machine shops, metals, raw material, and circuit board vendors.
Job Location:
This position is on-site at our Tigard, OR headquarters (located on Tech Center Drive off 72nd). This role is expected to work on-site, during regular business hours, a minimum of 4 days per week. This is not a remote work eligible position.
