Responsibilities: Assist with managing the supply of purchased parts required by Production and Service to support a high level of service to the Company's customers while minimizing inventory investment and obsolescence risk. Responsible for quoting, ordering, tracking, and invoice management of the purchased components required for the custom fixturing and automation systems produce by the Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC). Place purchase orders with suppliers to support production, service, and project requirements while complying with Purchasing International Standard Organization (ISO) procedures. Ensure correct pricing is used when issuing orders, including sizing orders to obtain optimum price breaks and minimal set up costs while maintaining acceptable inventory levels and minimizing obsolescence risk. Gain approval from appropriate management for special orders and major purchases. Engage with suppliers and develop new suppliers to ensure strong relationship are in place and competitive prices are negotiated. Monitor and navigate shortages, overdues, change requests, and expedited orders. Maintain well organized and accurate purchase order and invoice history. Manage stocked inventory and buy cards for commonly used components and office supplies. Work with corporate purchasing and accounting to ensure best practices are followed. Create and maintain MTC shop orders in the MRP Software. Generate job packets. Scan and save the tool requisition information by requester. Maintain accurate part and labor cost. Generate weekly and as request reports. Communicate weekly with management and/or accounting on budgets and any issues or concerns that arise. Maintain up-to-date documentation on suppliers such as primary contacts, phone/fax numbers, NDA's, warranties, etc. Coordinate supplier meetings both at the company and the supplier. Attend training, seminars, and supplier visit as necessary. Participate in departmental meetings. Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S initiatives. Provide training, mentoring, and lead user group meetings. This is an entry level tactical Purchasing role. Perform other duties as assigned . This position reports to the MTC Manager. Qualifications: Less than 2 years related experience Associate degree (Supply Chain or Business) Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED Very little to no travel, overnight stays are unlikely Job may require employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or two-year degree along with three to five years of prior experience in material control, planning or purchasing. Experience with fixture build environments is highly desired. A firm understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), with SAP experience. Good computer experience, including excellent spreadsheet skills. Effective oral and written communication skills.
