Full job description JOB PURPOSE: The Business Development Representative plays a pivotal role in driving the company's growth by developing and managing "productization of residual" programs to optimize profitability and minimize expenses. This position is instrumental in generating revenue through prospect conversion, retaining the existing customer base, identifying new market opportunities, and supporting sales growth within diversified markets such as golf netting, lighting, temporary poles, and export. This role requires an entrepreneurial-minded individual with a strong sense of market and product development to lead the strategic initiatives and grow Bell into new product lines.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Develop and manage "productization of residual" programs to optimize profit areas and minimize expenses across diversified markets, including adjacent markets for utility poles such as (e.g., golf netting, lighting, temporary structures, posts, export utility, etc.) and more.
Drive profitable revenue growth by converting prospects and retaining the established customer base while also exploring new market segments.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with current customers to enhance the contribution margin.
Foster high customer satisfaction, ensuring positive long-term relationships and repeat business.
Assess customer needs, present innovative products and solutions, and close sales to exceed revenue targets.
Monitor competition market strategies and success to gather insights on pricing, products, and emerging services.
Stay at the forefront of industry trends and developments by attending association meetings, reviewing publications, and establishing networks.
Identify and capitalize on new products and market opportunities to differentiate Bell's solutions and offerings.
Drive business success through a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to market development.
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service to align strategies and achieve goals.
Work closely with our plants and production yards to help promote and sell residual inventory by moving them into markets/customers.
Prepare compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to secure new business.
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities through innovative strategies.
Provide regular updates, reports, and forecasts on sales activities to the Director of Sales.
Actively participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand Bell's market reach and visibility.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Proven track record in business development, sales, or a related field. Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of market and product development.

SKILLS BASED REQUIREMENTS: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, think creatively, and take initiative.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to use the computer for extended periods of time in a sitting or standing position. Ability to work under time constraints and ability to work in a face paced work environment. Must be able to physically and safely set up and take down tabletop marketing displays. Must be able to drive for long distances. Travel is required and a current passport is needed for international travel.
