Job Summary The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and all other members of the department in the development of sales for Five- S in the territory including identifying, developing, and implementing growth opportunities for Five- S and its affiliate companies by directly soliciting potential customers or new clients and proposing Five-S for work on specific projects that cumulate in Five-S receiving a contract for the targeted work.
This position entails all aspects of new business development, marketing, sales, and assisting our team in developing sales and marketing campaigns, establishing customer relations, and marketing research. Will act as the point of contact in the area and is fully accountable for outcomes for each initiative. This role is expected to have the skill set, attributes, and experience to navigate the successful execution, delivery, and finalization for multiple clients at the same time.
Job Responsibilities but not limited: Increase accountability, flexibility and improve processes with a more dedicated force from cradle to grave. Create opportunities for improving the company's execution approach. Find new business opportunities for the business area to be successful. Exercise discretion, decision making and independent judgment that is consistent with the company's core values, its mission, and the goals of Business Development. Identify, build, and develop new client business within a vertical market by pursuing business opportunities with strategic targets in key industries and cultivating relationships with existing clients. Maintain an active sales pipeline with timely reporting of all potential opportunities and projects that will be reviewed weekly or more frequently as required. Develop strategies with action plans to reach key people on each targeted project. Furnish reports of all sales activity weekly by entering your sales activity into HubSpot CRM database daily. Make in person sales calls and presentations to introduce Five- S capabilities and value propositions. Identify and evaluate new markets and partnership opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, attendance and participation with various industry and professional groups and networking associations as requested. Uses critical thinking skills to develop and execute strategic plans to successfully achieve opportunities within the various markets the company pursues. Provides client specific opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation, and other marketing needs required throughout the proposal preparation and delivery process. Provide bid invites with key contacts for opportunities to the VPSM, who will determine if the opportunity is to be assigned to estimating, or others, or dismissed. Work closely with estimating to develop competitive, comprehensive, attractive proposals for prospective and existing clients. Follow up on all bids submitted to your clients and schedule post bid discussions with estimators, or operations team members as planned for each situation. Negotiate proposals for an award for contracts or purchase agreements to deliver and turnover the estimate to operations for execution. Maintaining a strong understanding of products and services and innovating new ways to serve business. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant experience in successful sales. 3 years of sales experience in the construction industry. Knowledge of the current market, clients, competition, and other dynamics in the industry. Excellent communication skills, able to meet goals and set priorities. Ability to speak professionally using strategic negotiating skills. Strong organizational talents and ability to work in different environments. Must have a tenacious drive to succeed and take the initiative. Must have a valid driver's license. Five-S is an equal opportunity employer. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
