At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center
is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at Pennington Biomedical is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers
, and includes approximately 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Pennington Biomedical is located within state-of-the-art research facilities on a 222-acre campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Job Description:
Pennington Biomedical Research Center
, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Biostatistician in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Biostatistician will work alongside faculty and senior staff and participates as a member of a team of biostatisticians who collaborate in the conduct and reporting of clinical and epidemiological studies.
Major Responsibilities
Prepare analysis datasets from raw data under the direct supervision of biostatistics faculty or senior staff.
Perform data management and and data editing under the direct supervision of biostatistics faculty or senior staff.
Create analysis related macros in for use with statistical software.
Document all new processes and procedures created.
Contribute to portions of abstracts, posters, reports, and manuscripts for publications/presentations.
Work closely with biostatistics faculty or senior staff to set priorities and deadlines, some of which might be tight, and maintain high quality work.
Execute all tasks with attention to detail.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Statistic, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathletics or related field required.
One year experience with SAS, R, STATA, or SPSS preferred.
Experience or inclination to learn Python, SQL, or other emerging languages is a plus.
Experience with UNIX is a plus.
Motivation to learn or employ AI is a plus.
