In coordination with technical manager, manages and implements building informationmodeling (BIM) in support of the technical services of the company.The BIM Manager's role is to understand and communicate how BIM will affect project workflows, deliverables and project management throughout Atkins, primarily within the Water Infrastructure group but interfacing with other BIM Managers across Atkins. The primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement on all related BIM projects, files and models. This will include the development of a work plan/roadmap for the development, implementation, and quality assurance checks needed for full BIM integration with Atkins' Water Infrastructure projects.About usAtkinsRéalis is one of the world's most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies. AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy.How will you contribute to the team?Software• Coordinate with IT department the selection of BIM software products, includingbut not limited to licensing compliance, incorporating new version releases,maintaining legacy software and customizing software for specific firm needs• Manage the implementation of supporting software and plug-ins for BIM• Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies• Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM• Stay informed on other BIM related software products and their interaction withRevit• Ability to use Dynamo and Python for automation is preferred.Standards• Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement• Creation and maintenance of the template files to assure standards• Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions• Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity• Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards ofall shop drawings produced.• Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow processstandards• Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of BIM users to ensure BIM standardsare maintained in the creation of BIM models.Leadership• Report on the Water Infrastructure group's current and projected state in regardsto BIM implementation• Create and lead deployment strategies for the BIM implementation effort• Assess: Evaluate the firm's current workflow, strategies, budgets, projects,staffing, etc.• Plan: Create a plan for implementation (identify team members, what is theproject, what are the goals, etc.)• Solve: Execute the plan, install the software, get templates created, get training,etc.Plan to grow BIM user group and ensure regular communication and coordination among BIM/Revit users.Support• Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production• Support the BIM technology needs of a multi-office firm• Troubleshoot problems• Liaison with vendors, software developer support staff and other support channelsTraining• Provide fundamental and intermediate training to KFI staff on all BIM software,through a training program incorporating large group, project team andindividualized training methods• Conduct continuing education on BIM processes and its new technologies• Provide technical orientation/onboarding to new hires regarding BIM tools• Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM, bringing back best practicesand disseminating the information to appropriate teamsProject Interface• Assist project teams in BIM project setup, project work modeling and detailing• Assist/create Revit families in response to project need• Create project schedules with content• Help resolve BIM design issues• Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team• Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT• Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate and update all electronicmodels• Link BIM to the project construction phase for submittals, construction models,shop drawings and schedulesWhat will you contribute?Bachelor's degree in technical field or high school plus five years of specialized technical training, such as is obtained in a vocational or technical school.Formal BIM training ideal but not required.Generally, requires minimum eight years of experience in coordinating BIM standards development and implementation into project.What we offer at AtkinsRéalis:AtkinsRéalis realizes that health, mental and financial wellbeing, are all equally needed to achieve balance in life.
