The BH Licensed Clinician is responsible for providing mental health and substance use services at WakeMed.They conduct assessments in person and via tele, provide diagnoses and crisis intervention, and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team.They also participate in hospital and community initiatives and maintain knowledge of relevant behavioral health issues.

Responsibilities
• Conduct mental health and substance use assessments in person and via tele.• Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and social work interventions.• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and communicate disposition and level of care.• Assist with diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendation, and high-risk behavior prevention.• Advise patients, families, and medical providers to improve quality of care.• Participate in hospital and community initiatives addressing mental health and substance use issues.• Provide expertise in mental health and substance use issues through education and support.• Maintain knowledge of relevant behavioral health and medical legal issues.• Document assessments, dispositions, and interactions according to guidelines.• Work independently, prioritize and manage time efficiently, and handle diverse assignments and conflict.
Requirements
• 2 years of experience in clinical mental health or substance abuse/addiction.• Master's degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work.• Licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist.• Associate licensure is also accepted.• Certification as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist preferred.• Certified Notary required within 1 year of hire.
