Bereavement Coordinator-Hospice

Bereavement Coordinator Full Time The Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is seeking a Bereavement Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the directing and organizing of Parker's Comprehensive Community Hospice Bereavement Program.
Community and Inpatient Hospice at Parker Jewish Institute provides comfort, relief, and peace of mind to individuals with advanced or life-limiting illness and their families. We are an intimate and unique not-for-profit program that provides personalized care to ensure the comfort, enhance the quality of life, and preserve the dignity of our patients.
Position Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for all bereavement activities including family mailings, home visits, and support group meetings and maintaining a library of resource material for volunteers and family members. You will interact and collaborate with families to determine the need for new volunteer services, and provide community outreach to expand volunteer opportunities for the program, among other related duties.
Position Qualifications: College Degree; Social Work Degree or background a plus 3-5 years of coordination experience in a related field Prior bereavement experience strongly preferred Prior experience working in a hospice or community health setting a plus Experience in a health care or not for profit setting; prior experience in hospice a plus Excellent communication and customer service skills Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 This position is a key administrative role within the organization, with the ability to make an impact and offers a significant personal and professional opportunity to join a world-renowned health care organization.
