Responsibilities
• Join our Behavioral Assessment team in this unique nurse role.• Support inpatient unit teams in providing best and safest care for medical patients who may require mental health support and interventions.• Assist assessment, clinical management, communication, crisis prevention, regulatory readiness, and evidence-based care practice.• Proactively support efforts that ensure the delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment.
Requirements
• 2 years of RN experience required with at least 1 year Psychiatric/Behavioral Health RN experience.• Working with child and adolescent population is preferred.• Minimum of one shift per week and flexibility to work days or nights, including some weeknight and weekend availability and a holiday rotation.• Orientation will vary depending on experience but may require several shifts per pay period for the first couple of months.• Targeting start dates of 1-8-24 and 2-12-24.• Attendance at New employee welcome day on start date from 9a-4p is required.• Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Wisconsin, Current CPR certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).• Education: Associates degree in Nursing.• Experience: Requires 2 years of experience in nursing. Requires 1-year experience in psychiatric or behavioral health working with diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.• Understands the pediatric developmental stages and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury, and hospitalization.• Analytical skills are necessary to assess complex patient conditions effectively and to develop comprehensive plans of care.• Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with interdisciplinary health team members and consumers.• Ability to delegate patient care activities effectively to unlicensed staff as appropriate and where indicated.• The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.• Mental and sensory abilities to read, process and interpret clinical data.• Flexible to ambiguity and unpredictability of patient presentations/needs.
