Job summary
The Bakery Clerk is responsible for the successful operation of the Bakery Department.Tasks include slicing, pricing, packaging products, and maintaining shelves and displays.Customer service and cooperation with other departments are also important duties.

Responsibilities
• Wait on customers at the bakery case.• Keep the bakery cases filled with product.• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation at the bakery cases, prep area, floors, and coolers.• Shrink wrap products and bag bread and rolls.• Package pies, cakes, and cookies.• Cooperate with other departments during sales promotions.• Assist workers in other departments when needed.• Take cake orders from customers.• Obey all Safety, Loss Prevention and HR Standards.• Perform other duties as directed by management.
Requirements
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and deal with various problems.• Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports.• Ability to speak effectively to customers and employees.• Ability to calculate figures and percentages.• Physical ability to stand, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.• Report certain health conditions and activities related to food handling diseases.• Report exposure to specific illnesses and disease outbreaks.• Report symptoms associated with gastrointestinal illness or infected wounds.
