Job Description SummaryThe Cloud Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on the day-to-day management, monitoring, and support of cloud services, ensuring uptime, efficiency, and maintaining the organization's cloud security posture.North American Life and Health (NALH) is the reinsurance business unit under GE Aerospace's Corporate Holdings; primarily focused on Long Term Care (LTC) and Life reinsurance segments. The NALH Investment organization manages a diverse asset portfolio of $45B to support reinsurance obligations.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Azure Infrastructure Management: Regularly monitor and manage Azure resources such as VMs, storage accounts, and virtual networks. Ensure optimal performance, cost efficiency, and resource utilization within the Azure environment.Operational Monitoring: Utilize Azure Monitor and Azure Security Center to maintain a bird's eye view of operations, ensuring early detection and remediation of potential issues. Ensure logging and monitoring solutions are in place for all cloud infrastructure.Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement, manage, and test backup and disaster recovery processes using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other relevant tools.Security & Compliance: Ensure that the cloud environment adheres to company policies and compliance requirements. Regularly audit using Azure Policy and Blueprints, ensuring secure configuration and compliance with industry standards.Resource Provisioning & Scaling: Deploy and manage Azure resources through Azure Portal, Azure CLI, and ARM templates. Ensure resources are optimally sized to balance performance and cost. Implement auto-scaling as needed.Network Management: Manage Azure Virtual Networks, Subnets, VPN Gateways, and Network Security Groups. Ensure secure and efficient network traffic flow between Azure and on-premises infrastructure.Patch Management: Regularly apply patches and updates to Azure services and infrastructure. Stay updated with Azure's latest offerings and updates.Automation: Use Azure Automation, Logic Apps, and other tools to automate repetitive administrative tasks, ensuring consistent and error-free deployment and management of resources.Collaboration: Work closely with cloud architects, developers, and other IT staff to deploy and support cloud applications. Act as a point of contact for any Azure-related operational issues.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in cloud computing roles.Azure Administrator Associate certification or similar.Comprehensive understanding of Azure infrastructure components, Azure CLI, PowerShell scripting, and Azure networking.This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
