Job Description AECOMs Water Business Line is seeking an AVP, Regional Federal Market Sector Leader (Water) in the Western United States to create business opportunities with federal clients related to water, wastewater, conveyance, water resources and program management.
About AECOM's Water Business Line With more than 3,200 Water professionals in all major markets throughout the United States and Canada, AECOM's Water business line leverages nearly a century of local, national and international project experience to provide today's municipalities, industries and governments with cost-effective solutions to their Water challenges. We deliver our services—from environmental planning studies to detailed design, construction management, and operations and maintenance—to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Our public sector work encompasses everything from small rural communities to large urban centers, to agencies with regional responsibilities. Our private sector work includes assignments for multiple commercial/industrial sectors, including oil and gas, chemicals, power, food and beverage, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.
The responsibilities of this position include: Serves as the leader of AECOM's Federal water BD activities in a defined geographic area, in coordination with the region executive, regional business line leader, other MSLs, and state leads Markets AECOM as the leading provider of water, wastewater, conveyance, water resources and program management services to existing and potential Federal clients Offers knowledge of the business and product offerings to support cross-discipline/business line/region collaboration In coordination with other strategic leaders, develops marketing strategies/plans and anticipates opportunities and trends in the business line, market sector, and adjacent market sectors Works with other business line and market sector leaders at region or geography level to ensure strategic business growth Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders linked to the Federal water market sector Serves as an ambassador for AECOM in the water business line and market sector Leads major pursuits and develops capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner Reinforces collaboration and team building, ensures client focus, demonstrates commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivates others to ensure positive morale and engagement. Provides input on BD expenditures and priorities based on market trends Continuously builds a strong professional network through personal contacts, conference planning and strategy development, committee participation, etc., including supporting client delivery as a technical advisor where appropriate Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership Valid driver's license Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time Due to nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required Preferred Qualifications 20+ years of relevant engineering, project management, and/or business development experience 10+ years of progressive experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure design; asset management, condition assessment, and utility mapping; risk and resilience; and/or Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act compliance Experience leading and executing projects for federal organizations and/or developing and marketing Federal business for an engineering consulting firm. Has a strong Federal client network, nationwide, but with focus on the Western U.S. Has a strong colleague network within other large, small, and disadvantaged engineering consulting firms Has strong verbal presentation and technical writing skills to articulate AECOM's qualifications . Ability to build strong personal networks within the company and across business lines. Experience in developing and/or reviewing SF330 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract qualifications and task order proposals Ability to manage client contacts and pursuits using a customer relationship management (CRM) platform (e.g., Salesforce) Ability to participate in and hold a position within relevant associations Additional Information Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation in Washington will be based on individual education, qualifications , experience, and work location.
