Incumbent will perform inspections and diagnostic tests, complete preventive and non-preventive repair work, operate and maintain hand, power tools, and garage/shop equipment, clean and safely maintain work area(s), perform job related record-keeping using computers, prepare parts and labor estimates, order parts and materials, and oversee and coordinate work of semi-skilled and unskilled student workers and staff.Required Education and Experience:These abilities normally would be acquired through any combination of progressively responsible training and experience as an automotive and/or equipment mechanic which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard apprenticeship program.Preferences:Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: BilingualExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Experience in higher education, particularly experience with CSU system documentation, policies and methodology.Knowledge of the University, State, and Federal OSHA rules and regulations related to automotive and equipment repair services.Demonstrated customer service experience in a diverse environment.Time Base:Full-time- 1.0Pay Plan:12/12Work Schedule:Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 6:00am-4:30pm.
