Job Description: Responsible for designing and developing automated test scripts to support application testing for 5G core network systems. Performs analysis of manual test cases and functional requirements and determines the balance of test coverage to be automated for reuse. Gathers information from the project team, designs, develops, unit tests, debugs, executes automated test cases and prepares reports. Document results and facilitate review meetings with project team stakeholders. Actively looks for solutions to automate test cases early in the test life cycle and works on projects of high complexity within one or more test/development environments. Works on multiple programs/systems/applications as a project team member and/or lead. Is considered a subject matter expert in the area of test case automation. Minimum 2-5 years for an Automation developer II and Minimum 5+ years for a Automation Developer III. 5 + years of experience with a bachelor s degree in computer sciences or engineering. 5G HMNO core test automation requires a dedicated resource who is good with scripting and testing as well. The quality of testing and time taken by manual testing delays the project if this position is not approved. Presently manual testers are unable to cope up with the scope of testing with rapid design changes. If approved, we can accelerate testing with reliability and consistency in results.
Further Info This is a system integration and testing team. they do cerification of 5G core network elements end-to-end testing. A different team handle the devices which connect to the RAN. His team s responsibility is to see what happens after RAN all the way to the internet. They will come up with new test cases based on their findings. Once they test it manually, they should be replicating those tests into automation script. There are currently 11 people in Suresh s team 10 FTE and 1 contractor. Had to let go of 6 people last year. Looking for candidates from telco background ideally DISH, Verizon, Comcast, T-Mobile, someone who has done 5G core testing manually as well as having the ability to do automation development. Need to be good at Python programming, already worked with automation tools. Someone who knows about software development life cycles as well as maintaining code. RAN testing is completely different to core testing, he is not looking for RAN testing background.
