The Audiologist is an expert in providing services in the prevention, diagnosis, and evidenced-based treatment of hearing and balance disorders for people of all ages. Hearing and balance disorders are complex with medical, psychological, physical, social, educational, and employment implications. The Audiologist provides professional and personalized services to minimize the negative impact of these disorders, leading to improved outcomes and quality of life. The Audiologist demonstrates integrity, productivity, and compassion to others and provides excellent communication skills with patients and team members. The Audiologist will be flexible and have a willingness to adapt to change. The Audiologist reports directly to the Clinical Office Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Examines patients experiencing ear conditions.
2. Performs and interprets diagnostic tests, including audiometry evaluations.
3. Completes ear-related procedures and prescribes medication as needed.
4. Make ear impressions to fit patients for cochlear implants and hearing aids.
5. Develops treatment plans and helps patients with aural rehabilitation.
6. Suggests specific hearing assistive technology (HATS) to patients.
7. Updates patient charts and electronic health records.
8. Collaborates with other medical professionals as needed.
9. Follows all medical laws, guidelines, regulations, and standards.
10.Helps public and private organizations improve accessibility.
11.Efficiently and professionally answer physician, patient, and family calls regarding testing and treatments.
12.Follow policies and protocols regarding testing, treatments, and emergencies.
13.Maintain and communicate needs to other staff and supervisor as needed.
14.Welcome patients in a professional, courteous manner and escort or assist them to the testing or treatment area.
15.Verify patient information, insurance information, collect patient paperwork and signatures as appropriate.
16.Accurately and efficiently document the patient testing and treatment in the patient's chart and electronic medical record.
17.Maintain, clean, and stock all treatment and work areas.
18.Process payment and other billing paperwork appropriately.
19.Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
2. Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree is required.
3. Active audiology license in the State of Ohio is required.
4. Board Certification from the American Board of Audiology is preferred.
5. At least 5 years of clinical experience is preferred.
6. Exceptional skills regarding patient relations, quality, accuracy, productivity, critical thinking, and teamwork are required.
7. Computer skills with ability to utilize electronic medical records and other software is required.
8. Must have the ability to work with speed and accuracy.
9. Must possess strong organizational skills.
10.Ability to communicate and articulate complex information simply.
11.Must promote teamwork by demonstrating wiliness to assist others.
12.Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor.
13.Neat, professional appearance.
14.Reliability and highly motivated.
15.Live the core values of the practice.
16.Ability to work well with coworkers.
17.Current CPR Certification.
