This is a hybrid full-time position where you will represent the members of the California Teachers Association in a range of legal matters. Work Expectations Represent California Teachers Association members in legal matters, including Education Code disciplinary actions, credentialing matters, and disputes with employer Districts. Provide advice and counsel to association members on various employment-related issues. Handle the intake and management of approximately 20-30 cases per month. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies. Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs. Represent clients in administrative hearings, court proceedings, and other legal forums. Communicate and negotiate with employer Districts and opposing parties to resolve disputes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents. Collaborate with colleagues and share knowledge within the organization. Provide timely updates to clients and respond to their inquiries. Attend meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Uphold ethical standards and professional responsibilities. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
