The Department of Translational Neuroscience is seeking applicants for a position in its Parkinson's disease research team.The ideal candidate will develop a distinct research program and collaborate with existing faculty.This position is located at the Grand Rapids Research Center in Grand Rapids, MI.

Responsibilities
• Conducting clinical research and utilizing cellular and animal models to study Parkinson's disease.• Focusing on areas such as alpha-synuclein biology, neuroinflammation, levodopa-induced dyskinesias, deep brain stimulation, aging, and epigenetic contributors to degeneration.• Developing a research program that complements existing research foci and enhances offerings for graduate trainees.• Collaborating with existing faculty to broaden Parkinson's disease research.
Requirements
• PhD or equivalent in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology.• Record of continuous and sustained scholarship in Parkinson's disease research.• Experience participating in multidisciplinary team-based collaborations.• Dedication to mentoring students and fellows.• For associate professor with tenure, a successful, active extramural funding history in Parkinson's disease research.
Key Skills Needed
• Expertise in two photon calcium imaging, optogenetics, and in vivo electrophysiology (desired)
