Job Description
Responsible for directing the development and execution of the plant site mission, vision, and objectives. Assures primary and secondary packaging of product that is of the highest quality, optimal cost, and delivered on schedule. Responsible for promoting safety and environmental awareness throughout the workplace and for directing the development and application of personnel policies and programs for the maintenance of sound employee relations and communications. Responsible for maintaining an empowered culture for all Manufacturing employees that aligns responsibility, authority, and accountability to assure continuous improvement in every aspect of the site operations. Primary Responsibilities: Directs through the Packaging Integrated Process Teams the coordination, execution, and control of activities concerned with primary and secondary packaging at the site.
Ensures all products packaged (small molecule pharmaceuticals, Vaccines and Biologicals) meet all customer requirements (US and International Markets) and in compliance with cGMP and Safety, Environmental, Labor, and Industrial Health regulations.
Directs through Plant Maintenance & Utilities activities involving facility utility and maintenance, site environmental health and safety, facility construction, security services, and property maintenance.
Directs through Materials Management activities focused on forecasting, planning, scheduling, procurement, warehousing, and all site systems relating to information management. In addition, directs through this position the long-range planning modeling, capital planning/administration, and contract manufacturing management. Material management also directs the logistics team to ensure all shipping, receiving and staging activities are conducted in line with compliance and business expectations.
Directs through Employee Development activities focused on employee training, employee development and talent management.
Directs through Quality Operations activities assuring Manufacturing quality standards are maintained in the processing, testing, and inspection of raw material and finished product/packages. In addition, directs cGMP activities focused on meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
Functionally directs Human Resources in handling of company programs for salary/ benefit administration, employee relations, recruiting, medical services, and diversity awareness.
Functionally directs Financial Services in preparation of annual Profit Plan, standard cost development, capital estimate justification, and financial assessments associated with projects.
Functionally directs Global Technical Operations, Information Technology, Environmental Health and Safety and Procurement organizations in Wilson to meet site and functional commitments.
Responsible for representing the company as chief spokesperson in community, government, industrial and employee relations. Serves on community and civic organizations to represent the best interest of the company as required.
Responsible for assuring conformance of operation with local, state, and federal regulations of governmental agencies.
Directs continuous improvement and employee engagement efforts across the site.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science equivalent
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of Good Manufacturing (Packaging) Process (GMP) experience
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in more than one functional area, such as Operations, Quality, Technology at a GMP manufacturing/packaging experience
Role(s) in a major health authority inspection, ie subject matter expert, back room etc.
Leading enterprise directives/initiatives accountable for delivering measurable outcomes requiring negotiation and influence outside of direct management
Cultivating continuous improvement mindset: delivering annual productivity, adapting to industry trends and fostering a culture of innovation
Managing significant changes that require integration of people, intent and delivery to produce measurable results
