SCOPE OF WORK Once fully trained, the engineer will be providing maintenance and hardware support of multiple data storage platforms (i.e. NetApp, Pure Storage, Rubrik, etc.) and occasionally assist with other IT projects.. This is a home-based field role and will be traveling ( driving own vehicle or flying ) as needed to various business sites for service delivery on a regular basis (business mileage reimbursed).
Candidates must be located in the Nashville, TN area. We will consider an entry-level tech savvy candidate with no IT work experience if they meet all other requirements – paid training is provided.
ASSOCIATE SERVICE ENGINEERS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide hardware support services for data storage equipmentMaintain equipment, including troubleshooting and following product repair action plans (disk/controller swaps, etc.)Act as smart hands with direction from a support centerAssist with installations (unboxing, lifting, racking/stacking, installing, etc.)Schedule service calls and coordinate the delivery of partsInteract with IT customers, TSP technical team members, and external support organizationsImpact extends to customer technical representatives, including systems administrators and technical managersTravel for formal and informal training and getting certified to deliver installations and higher-end activitiesMaintain flexibility to travel outside of the coverage area when requiredOn-call rotation availabilityWeekend and evening work are required, as are occasional holidaysTSP provides support to our customers on a 24/7/365 basisTHE IDEAL PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:Must be tech-savvy and exposed to hardware troubleshooting or installation experience (in work experience, military experience, a gamer that has built computers, or just the "go-to" person that all your friends/family go to for technical help!)Education: degree in computer science, information technology, or any technical field preferredMinimum of high school diploma or GED Must understand Microsoft Outlook and demonstrate good professional communication skills (phone / email / messaging / in-person)Exposure to datacenter environments is preferred but not requiredPositive attitude, professional, self-motivated, and fast learnerA strong sense of urgency, time management, and customer-facing skills are requiredMust have a general understanding of Microsoft Outlook and demonstrate superb communication skills (phone/email/in-person)Must be reliable, proactive, and possess the ability to take ownership of multiple engagementsGood job stability must be reflected on resumeADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ROLE:Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license (business mileage reimbursed), and auto insuranceMust be able to lift and install equipment (up to 75 pounds) into customer racksCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available at this time)Selected candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to startView our benefits information: https://marketing.mytsp.net/tsp-benefitsStarting compensation: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on relevant IT experienceWE ARE TSPTSP is an award-winning, customer-endorsed, and minority-owned IT solutions company.
