ASSOCIATE, RESIDENTIAL FINANCING PROGRAMS

SUMMARY :

The Connecticut Green Bank (hereafter "Green Bank") is seeking an Associate to support its single-family residential financing programs, with a focus on the Smart-E Loan.

We are a quasi-public authority and the nation's first state-level "Green Bank," leveraging public funds to increase and accelerate private investment in the green economy of Connecticut. The Smart-E Loan financing program was created in 2013 to help Connecticut homeowners access low rate, flexible term financing to make clean energy improvements. Since then, over 8,000 projects have been completed across Connecticut by hundreds of contractors and nearly $134 million in private capital has been mobilized by a network of local financial institutions.

The Associate will be a key member of the team operating the Smart-E Program comprised of internal Green Bank staff and external vendors and contractors. The Smart-E Loan's scope is now expanding beyond clean energy to include environmental infrastructure and resilience measures, and the Associate will help build/implement the process of reviewing and approving loans for the new measures and will be a project resource across the program for key initiatives that ensure a continued positive experience for homeowners, contractors, and lending partners.

The ideal candidate will enjoy being a business analyst/project management and have experience with, or be eager to learn about, residential energy and/or environmental infrastructure technologies and lending programs.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :

Individual responsibilities will include:
Creating and implementing a process for reviewing applications for loans coming in from the new measures;
Working with lender and contractor partners to manage projects through all process steps, including reviewing project information for program compliance;
Corresponding with external stakeholders, including homeowners, contractors, and lenders, by phone and email;
Supporting projects focused on automating processes for homeowners, contractors, and lenders (i.e. loan pre-approval);
Assisting the program team with all aspects of the development and management of the Smart-E Loan program, and other financing programs as necessary, including operational activities, marketing, budgeting, and reporting;
Providing ongoing feedback into evolving program design and guidelines;
Other duties as necessary.

The overall duties of this position will be refined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the individual hired and the ongoing needs of the team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill, and ability are required:
Experience with project tracking, with particular emphasis on customer support and application processing in the clean energy, environmental infrastructure, and/or financial services sectors;
Demonstrated ability to manage projects from idea to completion;
Strong interpersonal skills involving the ability to work effectively, tactfully, and courteously with program staff and partners, including homeowners, contractors, and lenders;
Solid communication skills;
Willingness to learn about clean energy and environmental infrastructure-related technologies and financial products, with previous experience preferred;
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously;
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite;
Knowledge of Salesforce preferred but not required;

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING :

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field

or

a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a customer-oriented program administration role, with special consideration given to candidates with education and/or experience in the clean energy, environmental infrastructure, and/or financial services fields.

The Green Bank will determine if this position will be filled at the Associate, Senior Associate, Associate Manager, or Manager level based on the experience and qualifications of the individual selected. EMPLOYMENT DETAILS :
This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
It is expected that the position will be based in the Green Bank's Hartford or Stamford, CT offices, with opportunities for some remote work.
State of CT benefits package, including generous time-off, health insurance covering medical, dental and vision, retirement, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, and paid leave.
Expected salary ranges from $65,000 - $75,000, but the final salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
