Job Description and Duties




The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) Workers' Compensation Program is within the Administrative Services Division, Human Resources Branch. Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) serves as the department's Return-to-Work Coordinator (RTWC) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator, providing administrative and analytical support and training for the Workers' Compensation (WC) and Return-to-Work (RTW) Program to accomplish the DSH vision, mission, goals, and values. The AGPA is expected to independently perform, process, and manage an assigned caseload and provide back-up to the lead data analyst conducting data collection, analysis, evaluation, reports, and recommendations on options to reduce workers' compensation costs and improve efficiency and effectiveness of claims management, and other duties as necessary. Directions and assignments may also come from the Staff Services Manager I Specialist, Staff Services Manager II, Human Resources Chief, Administrative Services Deputy Director, or Executive Director.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, which includes up to three (3) days of remote work per week but is subject to change based on Department guidelines and business needs. Incumbent is expected to provide in-office coverage on a rotational basis and attend a variety of face-to-face meetings as needed. Incumbent may travel occasionally (less than 5%) throughout California, including possible overnight stays as necessary, with prior notice.
