As an associate Modeler and important part of the Geoscience team, you will participate in a broad range of crucial, interesting, and challenging groundwater projects including assisting in developing groundwater models under the direction and supervision of more senior modelers. You will be participate in all aspects of model development including data collection and analysis, conceptual model construction, model calibration and validation, predictive scenario runs and reporting. You will leverage your competency in analytical tools to compile and check data, run models, and graphically present model results and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Here's more of what you will do:
Participate in development of surface and groundwater models, conducting predictive model runs, analyzing water balances, analyzing model results, & performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
Adhere to best practices and company standards in executing project responsibilities
Participate in data collection and analysis of model input data, model runs, and analyzing model results.
Prepare concise, well written and properly formatted reports ensuring accurate data and model results.
Participate, as appropriate in marketing and business development activities, including writing technical approach sections and preparing budgets for proposals.
Background Required
A Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Geology, Hydrology or related science or engineering discipline
Prior professional experience at intern level or equivalent
Competent ability in using Excel for analysis and plotting of large data sets, Competent in Word and PowerPoint
Prior class or project experience with Groundwater Vistas, Surfer, MODFLOW, GIS (Arc, QGIS, GRASS), and possess aptitude to develop proficiency in running and developing software written in Fortran, Python, R and other programming environments.
