Position Overview:
We are excited to invite a skilled pharmaceutical professional to join our team as the Associate Director, Corporate Development. This pivotal role will contribute to the successful execution of our corporate strategy, focusing on corporate affairs, communications, financing, and business development. Reporting to the SVP, Business Operations and collaborating closely with Avalyn's CEO and CFO, this position offers a dynamic opportunity for strategic impact and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Investor Relations (IR)
- Craft and update compelling investor presentations.
- Maintain investor and banking contact databases, documenting interaction notes and managing calendars.
- Serve as the primary liaison for investor inquiries, coordinating responses across cross-functional teams.
- Organize investor events, including conferences and one-on-one meetings for executive leadership.
- Assist in planning and executing investor roadshows.
- Collaborate with IR vendor to align on strategic initiatives.
Public Relations (PR) and Communications
- Direct or coordinate with PR vendors to develop and execute PR strategies, including press releases.
- Manage media inquiries and ensure timely responses.
- Oversee the development of press release materials and digital content.
- Plan and support medical/scientific conferences in collaboration with the Medical Affairs team.
- Coordinate corporate affairs conference planning.
Business Development (BD)
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with potential strategic partners globally.
- Identify and evaluate potential pipeline assets, collaborating with internal teams.
- Lead BD analyses and interactions, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Represent the company in BD matters at industry conferences and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech.
- Advanced degree preferred, with an MBA being highly desirable.
- Background in biotech corporate strategy, strategy consulting, business development, or financing.
- Strong initiative and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated capability in budget management and resource allocation.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally, including with clinical development, medical affairs, commercial, communications, or finance teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, and problem-solving.
- Openness to learning and a receptiveness to feedback.
- Knowledge of drug development or business development in respiratory or pulmonary therapies is advantageous.
