Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring an Assistant Surveyor to join our Survey Department located in Reno, NV.  We are seeking someone that enjoys land surveying, construction staking setup and calculations, data organization and general office support for field crews. The Assistant Surveyor will also need to communicate with contractors and other clients as it relates to field survey requests and execution.
A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Assistant Surveyor:
We take the traditional surveying and mapping approach of converting field data to documenting the earth's surface to another level by applying innovative ideas and tools to give our maps more dimension.  While there is no typical day in survey, there are a few things that you can count on:
Pre-calculating survey data pertaining to construction staking of civil improvements and other design information in AutoCAD Civil 3D.Receive and respond to construction staking and other field survey requestsCoordinate survey field crew schedule by balancing survey requests, survey personnel and daily availability with direction from the survey manager and staff.Upload/Download field data to/from the field crews and organize the data.Interpret field notes and sketches.Desired but not Required Duties and Responsibilities: Perform computations including closure, precision, and calculations for surveys, plats, easements, etc.Use AutoCAD software to assist in production of detailed topographic surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Record of Surveys, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, and other survey documents.Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for parcel and easement acquisition.Compile land title information from title reports and records research. The Ante: High School diploma, or equivalent, required with a good mathematical background.Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.Strong knowledge in construction plans pertaining to construction staking.Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center processing and Microsoft Excel.How we elevate your game:

It is our expectation that the salary will be somewhere in the middle of this range.
This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential and can fluctuate above or below the posted range. If there is an offer, the salary presented will consider several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and training. Base pay is just one piece of the compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.
