Assistant Store Managers are a key member of the store Operations team. In stores with two Assistant Store Managers, oversight responsibilities are divided between Center
Store (Grocery, Dairy/Deli, GM/HBC, Wine Specialist) and Perishable (Food
Service, Produce, Bakery, Meat/Seafood, Floral/Garden, Starbucks). You are responsible
for supporting a variety of store management duties including: total store
operations in the absence of the Store Manager, guest relations, implementation
and execution of merchandising plans, supervision of store crew members, human
resource activities and overseeing sanitation, safety and loss prevention
efforts throughout the store. You actively participate in coaching department
managers and crew members in order to create an environment that provides an employee-oriented, safe and respectful culture that
emphasizes empowerment, quality, and ongoing development of their team. Additionally,
you are responsible for tracking sales, managing budgets, selecting and
ordering products, building displays, ordering supplies and managing
inventories. You will be required to obtain a food handler's permit.
