Title: Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer - Marine Construction
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer to join our heavy civil construction team. The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy civil construction, with specific experience in projects including excavation, earthworks, underground utilities, site concrete, etc.
* Project Planning and Coordination:
* Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
* Work closely with the project manager to develop detailed project plans and timelines.
* Engineering Support:
* Provide technical support in the design and engineering aspects of marine construction projects.
* Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Construction Oversight:
* Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
* Conduct site visits and inspections to assess progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Budgeting and Cost Control:
* Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation for marine construction projects.
* Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Stakeholder Communication:
* Serve as a point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
* Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
* Safety and Compliance:
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations on construction sites.
* Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on site projects.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
