Assistant Professor without Tenure, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/ Oncology, Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research School / Campus / College: School of Medicine Organization: Pediatrics, Hematology/ Oncology Title: Assistant Professor without Tenure, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/ Oncology, Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research Position The Division of Hematology/ Oncology and Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Oncologist on the Faculty Scientist track at the level of Assistant Professor, without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a multi-year appointment over a 12 month service period, July 1 to June 30. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date is Summer or Fall 2023. This position will support the department's commitment to basic and/or translational cancer research that is relevant to children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. Ample laboratory space and resources for the candidate will be provided by the Seattle Children's Research Institute, where the investigator will join the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research. In addition to leading their own independent research program, the candidate will provide up to 25% effort to the clinical care of patients as part of a talented multidisciplinary team at Seattle Children's Hospital, the largest pediatric cancer program in the Pacific Northwest. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD $11,882 - $17,823 per month ($142,584 - $213,876 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children's University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS). Qualifications Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology. Applicants must have completed a pediatric residency and a pediatric hematology/ oncology fellowship. Applicants must provide evidence of research productivity in basic/translational pediatric oncology research In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
