Job Description: The Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education and Human Development is looking for a dynamic, highly qualified educator in Family Life and Human Development department. A completed PhD degree in FLHD or related discipline is required for a tenure-track, assistant professor position. An M.S. degree is required for a non-tenure track, lecturer position.
This position is contingent on funding.
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach 4-5 undergraduate courses in any of the following areas: Human Development, Family Studies, Family Services, and or Social Work. Specific courses to be taught depending on qualifications and expertise may include: Introduction to Family Services and Social Work, Lifespan Development, Internship Supervision, Family Process and Theory, Diverse Individuals and Families, Consumerism and Family Finance, School Counseling, Fostering Family, School, and Community Partnerships, and Values and Ethics in Family Services. The primary focus of this position is teaching and mentoring students. Specific courses to be taught depend on qualifications and expertise. Professional commitment, scholarly activity, service to the department, college, and university are expected and required for rank advancement and tenure considerations. Participate in departmental and college committee work and service to the university and community. Other assignments as determined by the department chair and dean. Education and Experience Requirements: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Family Studies, Human Development, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related field. Applicants with a Ph.D. may be considered for a tenure-track position. Evidence of successful teaching experience in Family Life and Human Development courses or related disciplines. Family and human services program, counseling, or agency experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with online delivery systems and/or interest and ability in utilizing and facilitating educational technologies in teaching. Licensure in your profession if applicable.
