The 30-credit Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics is designed to meet the demand from employers andprovide students with an end-to-end analytics education through a core curriculum with real practical experience. The program is housedwithin the Meehan School of Business, which offers AACSB-accredited BSBA degrees in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing,Management, Management Information Systems, International Business, Sport Management, and Talent & Human Resources Management along with anAUPHA-certified BA degree in Healthcare Management and a BA in Economics. The MPS in Data Analytics prepares students with a deepunderstanding of the technical aspects of working with data along with the capacity to identify and communicate analysis to stakeholders.Students graduate with a portfolio of work demonstrating their abilities and receive a Tier 3 SAS Academic Specialization. The program alsooffers a 15-credit Data Analytics Graduate Certificate.
The Division of Graduate and Professional Studies providesacademic leadership and oversight of the College's graduate and professional programs. GPS offers in-person, hybrid, and fully onlinemaster's degrees, graduate certificates, and professional development in business, education, and professional science programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an Assistant Professor ofBusiness Analytics within the Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics, the Coordinator will teach a variety of graduate coursessuch as Statistics for Data Analytics, Database & Data Warehouse Concepts, Structured Data Mining Using SAS, Database Applications,Visualization & Digital Storytelling, and others. It will be expected that the Coordinator maintain up-to-date knowledge of new software asneeded for use in business/data analytics and business academic programs. In addition, as a member of GPS, the faculty will contribute toquality assurance and accreditation, policy development, and liaising with external stakeholders.
Additionally, asCoordinator of the Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics, working under the Director of Graduate Business, this faculty role willhave administrative responsibilities such as curriculum development and review, student recruitment efforts, student support and advising,faculty coordination, and course scheduling. Education and/or Experience
Doctoral Degree in Data Science,Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Additionally, 3-5 years of full-time experience in graduate higher educationis expected. Some administrative experience, such as serving as a Director or Chair would also be ideal as this position containsadministrative responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The applicant must commit to ongoingresearch productivity and demonstrate participation in the broader academic community in terms of journal review responsibilities,participation in academic conferences, and other academic roles. A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is alsoessential. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring graduate students and enjoy working closely with studentadvisees to establish academic and professional goals.
