Title: Assistant Professor (Tenured) - Urologist, Men's Health/Andrology Position The Department of Urology at the University of Washington is seeking a urologist to join an established and high volume urological men's health practice and its associated Male Fertility Laboratory at UW Medicine. The position is a full-time, 12-months per year, tenured academic position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2024. Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The base salary range for this position will be: $22,084 per month to $29,667 per month ($265,008 - $356,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the University of Washington Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through UWP practice plan. Incentive is inclusive of variable incentive, Monthly or Semi-Annual Additional Compensation (MAC/SAAC).
The successful candidate will split time between the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and UW Medicine Men's Health Center and focus on men's health conditions including, but not limited to sexual and reproductive health involving common conditions such as male factor infertility, prior vasectomy, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, male urinary incontinence, genital pain and hypogonadism. Additionally this position will have a leadership role in the Male Fertility Lab. The Department of Urology has an established and high volume urologic practice, a large clinical population from the state of Washington and four neighboring states, active research programs, and an extremely strong academic urology faculty. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the continued development and growth of the Department's men's health practice, and establish an independent research program focused on reproductive health and fertility The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Duties of the position include providing excellent clinical management of urologic conditions, and teaching residents, fellows and students. The selected applicant must propose a research program. The position is open until filled. Qualifications The candidate must have an MD and PhD degree. The candidate must have a MD (or foreign equivalent) and be a board-certified or board qualified urologist with sub-specialty training in andrology (or foreign equivalent) as demonstrated by the completion of an andrology fellowship or similar reconstructive fellowship. Further, the candidate must have a wide expertise in general urology. Additioanlly, the successful candidate must have a Ph.D (or foreign equivalent) in laboratory science and postdoctoral training in translational or bench research. They must further have, or show progress toward attainment of, High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) certification.
All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license. Graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
