Responsibilities
• Assist Press Operators with press make ready and operating sheet-fed or web offset printing press• Insert packing sheets, fasten reinforcing bars, and install plates and blankets on press cylinders• Adjust press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms• Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure• Wash blankets, clean ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains• Make necessary color or register corrections and press adjustments prior to production run
Requirements
• Ability to read and follow job specifications• Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely• Ability to use micrometer to mount and align printing plate correctly• Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board• Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment• High School Diploma or GED required• Minimum 2 years general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials
