This position will be responsible for assisting with all phases of a Division I Women's Lacrosse program that competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The applicant should be prepared to assist in the planning and execution of all practices and games, administering individual skill sessions on the field or in the gym on a daily basis, prepare scouting reports including video analysis and breakdown of film for the team and for individual players, develop and maintain strong relationships with high school and club coaches, utilize ARMS software to manage compliance and recruiting records, and perform all other duties as assigned by the Head Coach while supporting the Head Coach in cultivating a positive environment in which student-athletes develop and succeed academically and athletically.
Job Duties
Compliance - ensure direct compliance by coaching staff, players, and recruits with NCAA, Atlantic 10, and Davidson College athletics regulations, policies, and overall mission of amateurism. Administrative work - Keeping the ARMS recruiting software up to date. Emailing recruits and responding to their emails on a daily basis. Inputting recruiting data into the system; ordering equipment as becomes necessary. Managing the team google doc for individual skill sessions, meetings and meal prep. Uploading and editing game film.
On field Coaching - Assist in coaching techniques and strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction both during practice and outside of practice. Run individual skill sessions on a daily basis.
Coordinate preparations for team travel (hotel reservations, bus transportation, dining reservations, flight plans, van rentals, directions). Coordinating home games (including visiting team's arrangements).
Recruiting - traveling to recruiting events to recruit high school players; watching recruiting videos; talking to club and high school coaches on a weekly basis; calling recruits; picking up and dropping recruits off at the airport; planning official and unofficial visits including itineraries. Requirements
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree; Played or coached Division I, II or III lacrosse. If the assistant played at the college level than no experience is required. If they did not play at the collegiate level then prior coaching experience is required. Knowledgeable in lacrosse (Division I, II or III), computers (excel, word, publisher), strong people skills.
