Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. This flyer is used to recruit for a wide number of positions across the United States, Europe and the Far East during the Total Army Career Fair in Arlington, Tx on 13 April 2024.

U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Duties Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CVS) Assistant Director of a CVS Program with responsibility for assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CVS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards. Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well-being of children and youth IAW DoD, Army and local policies and standards. Assists in maintaining DoD/Army certification for assigned program areas and helps ensure program achieves and retains national accreditation or Army equivalent and maintains accreditation/Army equivalent standards. Provides appropriate staff professional recognition and/or disciplinary action. Conducts written observations of staff during all hours of operation, and evaluates employees based on established performance standards. Works cooperatively with other CVS Managers to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality options for all children and youth. Serves as member of the CVS Program Plan Team to develop written strategies for program improvement. Requirements Conditions of Employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position. Proof of education is required at the time of application. Good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease (verified through physical examination). Immunizations must be current including annual influenza vaccinations. Any individual who was required to register with selective service and who has not registered or knowingly and willingly did not register before the requirement terminated or become inapplicable to the individual will not be appointed. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable suitability determination. Travel to on and off post locations may be required. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2, and a Childcare Tier 1 background investigation. Qualifications OR1. Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education or appropriate CYS field as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described.2. In addition to the basic requirements stated above the following is required: Successful completion of a 4-year college or university degree with a major course of study which directly relates to the appropriate CYS field consistent with: - For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as related behavioral science.2. In addition to the basic requirements stated above the following is required: Experience that involved teaching children or other work that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to select, train, and supervise childcare and preschool employees, family childcare providers, or other care-giving adults. Ability to develop and implement child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. Must possess comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. 3 months of directly related work experience teaching children or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position to be filled. Ability to develop and implement child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. Must possess comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying). Additional information Area Of Consideration The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Worldwide. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
