The Department of Athletics will support the university mission by developing and maintaining a top-quality Division II intercollegiate athletics program that is committed to providing a positive and fulfilling academic and athletic experience for all student-athletes. As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and the NCAA Division II, CSU Pueblo Athletics plays a supporting role in the higher education mission while enhancing a sense of community, strengthening our identity and playing a prominent role in enrollment management for the university.
Description of Job This full-time, year-round position provides an assistant coach for the women's volleyball program in Athletics. This position will provide support in the overall organization and management of the women's volleyball program while reporting to the head women's volleyball coach. In accordance with the vision of the head coach, this individual will be responsible for all areas, including: coaching, practices and workouts, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, coordinating travel, planning and monitoring the women's volleyball budget, monitoring player academics, organizing and managing summer camps and clinics, monitoring NCAA compliance, promoting the women's volleyball program, developing fund-raising opportunities for the women's volleyball program and other duties assigned by the Head Women's Volleyball Coach, Associate Athletic Director and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.



Primary Duties
Coaches student-athletes, including leading individual and team practices, scheduled games/competitions; develops game preparation and strategy; demonstrates skills; conditions and trains student-athletes in order to develop skill, character, and teamwork in women's volleyball.


Manages the women's volleyball program by planning and coordinating all practices, workouts and competitions; ensuring that all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress; manages the program's operating budget through procurement request and travel reimbursements; and develops and implements fund raising programs to supplement operating funds.


Recruits highly qualified prospective student-athletes.


Monitors player academics including student welfare and encourages academic excellence.


Organizes and conducts team camps; develops fund-raising opportunities; serves on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establishes and maintains community contacts that enhance the success of the program.



Ancillary Duties:
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Associate Athletic Director and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.



Salary Range
$36,000-41,000
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year institution Willing and able to work nights and weekends Physical ability to fulfill duties of the position including skill demonstration Knowledge of NCAA and/or RMAC rules and regulations Experience in a position where successful skills in cooperation, organization, communication and problem solving were required At least one year of successful coaching in volleyball at high school or higher level, including intern or graduate assistant work Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited 4-year institution Previous experience in a position that required a commitment and ability to motivate, teach and counsel student-athletes Experience at the collegiate level in women's volleyball Strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach and counsel student-athletes to achieve their highest potential Experience recruiting NCAA qualified student-athletes Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations Supplemental Information All interested candidates must apply through the on-line application system.
