Join a growing community bank in Southeast Michigan. Bank Michigan is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Branch Manager for the Onsted office. JOB SUMMARY Provides effective management, under the direction of the Branch Manager, of a branch office to meet established performance objectives with regard to branch profitability. Implements policy, ensures proper security controls, assures conformance with compliance, and has total knowledge of products, services, policies, procedures and systems, practices excellent customer service skills and exercises managerial authority as a team leader. May have lending authority / goals.
Job Responsibilities: Primary: Supervises Lead Personal Banker and Personal Bankers, provides coaching and may perform Personal Banker duties as needed Monitors Personal Bankers to ensure compliance with bank's procedures and policies Opens new accounts, accepts loan applications and has thorough understanding of all product lines Must be flexible with scheduling to provide the best customer service, including attending meetings and events during extended hours on occasion Assists with calling on current and potential customers to ensure good relations with current customers and generate new business leads. Oversee Lead Personal Banker to coordinate branch activities that ensure proper staff scheduling, supervision and operational efficiency Oversee training, coaching and motivating of branch personnel Conduct regular meetings with branch personnel for the purpose of sharing information Monitor cash limits for the branch and keep within established guidelines Ensure all security procedures and policies are followed Deliver quality service to both internal and external customers Keep current on all loan and deposit products, policies and procedures Keep overall appearance of the office at a professional level Ensure that proper notices are posted Be part of the Saturday rotation schedule, as needed Cross sells all deposit and loan products to customers and potential customers, as needed; and expands customer relationships. Works harmoniously and collaboratively with team members to accomplish bank objectives. Acts as an advocate for the Bank in all interactions both internally and externally, including overall product knowledge of deposit and loans for aligning customers/prospects with the products that best meet their needs. Attend regular trainings/seminars both inside and outside the bank, as needed. Other: Serve as a backup to the Branch manager, in their absence. Train new Personal Bankers Assist with other duties as assigned Job Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications: None
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience: One to two years of job-related experience (Lead Personal Banker preferred), including prior supervisory/lead, formal Personal Banker and new accounts experience. Successful completion of in-house training program. Good interpersonal communication and computer skills; ability to operate standard office. Must be or have been a Personal Banker in good standing (proper O&S record). Good interpersonal and supervisory skills, as well as good standard office equipment skills.
Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to professionally and proficiently communicate verbally and in writing with others. Ability to utilize general office equipment, Internet and various business software programs (i.e. MS office). Ability to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel between branches and transport oneself to customers and events at the discretion of the organization, as needed.
