Assistant/Associate
Professor of Communication
The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND is seeking applications for the position of
Assistant/Associate
Professor of Communication, with the anticipated start date of Fall 2024. The University of Mary is a private, Christian, Catholic, Benedictine university that welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Situated within the university's School of Arts and Sciences (SOAS), the Communication Program is looking for a colleague to serve the students at the University of Mary and support our rapidly growing program. As a teaching institution, we invite qualified candidates who are committed to teaching at various levels in undergraduate education and whose research will support pedagogical development.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Communication or related field
Demonstrated ability to organize and deliver content in a meaningful way
Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary -

Supports the ongoing implementation of
Ex Corde Ecclesiae , the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Communication or related field
Specialization in Social Media & Digital Marketing, Communication Law & Ethics, Journalism, or Public
Relations/Strategic
Communication
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
Curriculum design experience
Active program of research or scholarly activity in communication discipline or a related field
Industry experience in strategic communication, crisis communication, journalism, or similar fields
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of Communication courses across the curriculum, including their area of expertise. Communication faculty regularly teach Oral Communication for the university core, but we particularly encourage candidates with further areas of specialty in Journalism, Public
Relations/Strategic
Communication.
