Job Description SummaryThe Assembler performs essential duties and responsibilities in the assembly process for turbine air starters including remanufactured assemblies.Job DescriptionStarting pay is $18.39 per hour plus 10% NSB. 3rd shift hours are Sun - Thur 10pm - 6:30am, however training on days will be required for several months.Essential Responsibilities:Perform a variety of assembly processes including; tear down of units, cleaning, sub-assembly, final assembly, test, prep & paint, and pack.Use pneumatic tools and hand tools (pliers, wrenches, hammer, etc.) to perform workReview, understand and follow routers, procedures, specification, and other instructions for completeness to perform operationsProduce error free products through in process inspectionsMeet production goals and work to established Lean Manufacturing guidelinesEnsure all company paperwork is filled-out accuratelyGeneral housekeeping in cell (5S)Work under general direction with minimal coaching in a team environmentPerform other duties as assigned and cross trainQualifications/ Requirements:High school diploma or General education Degree (GED)ELIGIBILITY REQUIRMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day. Must be able to work with upper body extremities. Must be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on occasion. Items more than 30 pounds will be lifted with assistance. Desired Characteristics:Prior experience working in a production environment focusing on assembly and/or disassemblyAbility to read and understand specifications, as well as analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints and written instructions. Strong attention to detailBasic computer skillsAbility to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practice situations.
